Our real migration experience

We replaced our own FileMaker system. Here is what that taught us.

We originally built our operational system in FileMaker to manage clients, projects, time entries and invoices. We replaced it with Satnica, a web application for time tracking, task management, planning and reporting.

  • Understanding the original business logic

    We built the FileMaker system ourselves, so we knew the rules behind every screen before replacing it.

  • Redesigning workflows for the web

    We rethought how each workflow should work in a browser instead of copying FileMaker layouts.

  • Preserving necessary operational processes

    The processes the business depends on were identified first and carried over deliberately.

  • Developer-guided AI-assisted implementation

    AI tools supported the build. Developers made and reviewed the decisions. This describes how Satnica was built, not features inside it.
