Project overview
Several online stores, managed through one backend
FM Solutions developed a centralized backend for managing multiple e-commerce websites through a single administration platform. It gives the team one interface for the day-to-day work of running different online stores.
The storefronts are what customers see. The backend is the project.
NaturaShop and Optipharm are two real websites connected to the platform, shown further down this page.
The challenge
Running more than one store multiplies the work
These are the common operational problems of managing several e-commerce websites, not claims about a specific client.
The same catalog, maintained again and again
With a separate back office per store, product data tends to be entered and corrected once for every storefront.
Orders spread across systems
Following orders, payments and returns gets harder when each store keeps its own list.
Supplier data in many shapes
Suppliers deliver price lists and catalogs as APIs, XML, JSON or spreadsheets, each needing its own handling.
Pricing that drifts
Margins and selling prices are easy to apply inconsistently when they are calculated in several places.
Our solution
A central backend with the stores connected to it
Catalog, supplier imports, pricing and orders live in one administration platform. The online stores connect to it, so the work of running them happens in a single place.

Platform capabilities
What the administration platform does
Each capability below is visible in the real screens further down the page.
Centralized product management
One catalog fed by several suppliers, searchable and filterable by supplier, category, brand and price, with purchase price, margin and selling price in a single view.
Multi-store administration
Several storefronts are run from one administration area, instead of a separate back office for each store.
Order management
Orders in one list with order status and payment status, searchable by number, email or name.
Business overview
A dashboard summarizing catalog size, items awaiting review, products without images, active suppliers and the latest imports.
Catalog organization
Every product carries its supplier, category and brand, and margin rules turn supplier purchase prices into selling prices.
Operational monitoring
Notices and counters point to what needs attention, such as rows flagged during a supplier import or products still missing images.

The administration, as the team sees it
Screens from the live platform. Switch between them to see each part of the work.

The starting point. Counters for items awaiting review, catalog size, products without images and active suppliers sit next to the latest supplier import and a history of earlier imports.
The interface is in Bosnian, the language of the team that uses it.
Connected websites

Business value
What centralized multi-store management can offer
These are the potential operational benefits of the approach. No performance figures are claimed.
Less repeated work
Catalog and supplier updates are handled once, in one place, rather than store by store.
A clearer picture
Orders, imports and catalog status are visible together, so it is easier to see what needs attention.
Consistent pricing
Margin rules are applied the same way across the whole catalog.
Fewer manual import steps
Supplier catalogs can be fetched through an API or web service, or uploaded as a file and compared automatically.
A base to grow from
A shared backend gives additional storefronts something to connect to, instead of another back office to build and maintain.
